Our History

1985 - Purchased our first piece of equipment, a small Kubota backhoe

1986 - Worked on a number of small residential projects.

1987 - Upgraded to a Case 580D full size, two wheel drive backhoe.

Became a Licensed / Certified Installer of septic systems.

1988 - Hired our first employee, Jeff Bjornsgard.

1989 - Purchased our first truck, a five yard International dumptruck.

1990 - Became a Licensed Underground Fuel Storage Tank decommissioning contractor. We removed a number of underground fuel storage tanks from local schools, commercial facilities, and service stations.. At the time we became licensed to perform this type of work, we were one of only a handful of contractors in the state performing this type of service. We now had two employees, and still just one truck and backhoe. Other equipment was occasionally brought in on a short term rental.

1991 - We purchased our first ten yard truck, a 1973 Ford 9000 that is still in daily service.

Our operations moved our new shop at 59 Naselle Road. This location place us within a block of the major intersection of highways #4 and #401.

Our first commercial site preparation job, in which we were the prime site prep. contractor, The Naselle Timberland Library, was completed.

We were beginning to work on number of site preparation jobs, using a rented dozer and logging skidder. We were also rapidly becoming the leading installer of all types of septic systems and products in our service area.

We began installing some of the first Pressure Injection Septic Systems in Pacific County.

1992 - We purchased our second ten yard truck, a 1970 Ford 9000.

1993 - We installed the first gravelless drainfield in Pacific County. Other contractors soon followed our lead, and today it is estimated that 95% of all systems installed in this area are gravelless.

Purchased our Bobcat 753 Loader.

We oversaw installation of one of the largest septic systems in the area. The system was installed at Naselle High School.

We purchased our first 4-wheel drive backhoe, a Case 580K.

1994 - Major projects included site prep. at the new State of Washington Naselle Youth Camp Juvenile Housing Facility, and for the remodel of the Naselle - Grays River School District K-12 Facility.

We purchased our excavator, a bulldozer, another backhoe (our third), and another dump truck this year.

Rosburg Post Office1995 - One of our projects this year included site preparation for the new Rosburg Post Office. It included clearing, grubbing, foundation excavation, subsurface drainage, parking lot & road installation, wastewater holding facilities, and construction of a Gabion (rock-basket) walls.
1996 - Another 4-Wheel Drive Backhoe, a JCB 214 was added to our fleet.

Septic system1997 - We installed what is likely the largest septic system in western Washington, at the Skamokawa Vista Park. Included in this system was a gigantic poured-in-place 20,000 gallon concrete septic tank. Other major accomplishments this year included upgrading the Skamokawa Water System, extending water service across the bridge to the Wahkiakum Fairgrounds and the renovated Skamokawa Center.
