Bob was born in California in 1945. In 1946 the family moved to Greenacres in the Spokane valley. They later moved to Quincy in central Washington and Bob lived on farms from 4th - 11th grades. They moved to Seattle and Bob completed high school at West Seattle. He worked and attended University of Washington the next five years. Bob started teaching in South Bend in 1968 and has taught sixth or fifth grades ever since. He married Nancy Nolan, who was teaching in Raymond, in 1971. She is the niece of Gay and Sid Peterson of Raymond (and South Bend) and the grand-daughter of Ken and Maude Inman of Ilwaco. The Inmans were a pioneering family in Pacific County and Ken was a longtime fire chief of Ilwaco. Bob and Nancy have one son, Gabe, who currently works for the Washington State Dept.of Financial Institutions.
