Foreclosures

For detailed information please read
RCW 84.64.
The foreclosure process starts the first part
of June. Any real property that has delinquent taxes for the tax
year 2005 or prior will be subject to the 2008 foreclosure. The
process follows these basic steps:
-
Notice
is sent on June 1st ; this allows the property owner
the opportunity to
pay the taxes owed for 2005 (and prior years). Second notice is
mailed June 15th. If you are subject to foreclosure
or listed on the Certificate of Delinquency and did not
receive notice please contact our office.
-
The
Certificate of Delinquency is filed in court in August.
All taxes must be paid in full (including the current year,
2008).
-
Title
reports are ordered mid July and are available mid to late
August in the treasurers office at the front desk (they may not
be removed from the treasurers office).
-
The
Certificate of Delinquency will be published in the county
paper, The Chinook Observer, in September.
-
Notices
will be sent out early September to notify interested parties of
the pending foreclosure.
-
The
foreclosure sale date will be announced. It is held in the Pacific County Courthouse Rotunda.
-
We only
accept cash, cashier’s checks, and money orders for foreclosure
payment once the Certificate of Delinquency is filed.
-
Foreclosure fees are increased as costs are incurred.
*Note:
The delinquent taxpayer has until 4:30 pm the day before
the sale to settle taxes. Our normal
business hours are 8:00 am to
4:30 pm.
**Information
regarding the procedures for the foreclosure sale will be posted at
a date closer to the sale.
