Food Handler Class

 

Pacific County offers two food handler classes per week for your convenience: Every Tuesday at 10:00 am at the Seaview Transit Center, 2750 Hwy 101, and every Thursday at 10:00 am in our South Bend office, 1216 W. Robert Bush Dr., South Bend.  You may pick up a study manual prior to taking the class at either location.  A written test will be given at the end of the classroom session.  The fee is $10.00 cash for the class. If you have any questions, please feel free to call either office.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: Do you have to register to take the class ahead of time?

A: There is no required pre-registration. Please plan on showing up at least 10 minutes ahead of time to find parking and sign in.

 

Q: How long is the class?

A: The class generally lasts between an hour to an hour and 15 minutes.

 

Q: Are there any age requirements for the class?

A: There are no age requirements for getting a Food Worker Card.  Anyone who can pass the test can receive a card.

 

Q: Can you take the class and test online?

A: We currently do not offer the Food Worker Class on-line.

 

Q: My Food Worker Card is expiring.  Do I need to take the class and test again?

A: Yes. To renew a Food Worker Card you have to take the class and test again. To receive a 3-year card you can renew your card no more than 60 days prior to the expiration date and not more than 30 days after the expiration date.

 

Q: What options do I have if I speak a foreign language?

A: You can bring someone to help translate the information and test or you can click on the link below for booklets and practice tests in foreign languages.
