Minutes of a regular session of the Pacific County Board of Health held on June 24, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. in the Commissioners Meeting Room of the Courthouse Annex in South Bend, Washington. Present were Chairman Jon C. Kaino, Commissioner Norman “Bud” Cuffel, Commissioner Clay Harwood and Kathy Noren-Clerk of the Board. Other elected and appointed officials and staff in attendance included Bryan Harrison-County Administrative Officer, Don Larsen-Director of Public Works/County Engineer, Mike DeSimone-Director of Community Development, Faith Taylor-Eldred-Asst. Director of Community Development, Lisa Ayers-Fiscal/Management Analyst, David Burke-Prosecutor, Kathy Spoor-Director Public Health & Human Services and Katie Lindstrom-Oien-Health Educator. Others in attendance included Stan Sonntag-Fire Protection District #1 and a representative of the Willapa Harbor Herald. Chairman Kaino opened the session at 9:02 a.m.
Commissioner Harwood moved to approve minutes of the June 10, 2008 meeting. Commissioner Cuffel seconded, motion carried.
Commissioner Harwood moved to approve Rainbow Valley Landfill Claim Vouchers for payment to Pacific County PUD in the amount of $41.15, to the City of Raymond in the amount of $1,180.00 and to Royal Heights Transfer Station in the amount of $861.19 all subject to adequate budget appropriations. Commissioner Cuffel seconded, motion carried.
Brief discussion held regarding Amendment No. 1 to the Rainbow Valley Landfill Post Closure Funding Agreement. Following discussion the matter was deferred to a later date.
Chairman Kaino advised the Board of County Commissioners meeting will be continued to June 30th for issues to be brought before the Board and stated that the Board of Health meeting will also be continued to Monday, June 30, 2008 at 9 a.m., for any business that may come before the Board of Health.
