Noxious Weed Control Board
![]()
The Pacific County Noxious Weed Control Board consists of five members appointed by the Board of Pacific County Commissioners. These members are responsible for overseeing the noxious weed program which consists of the development and implementation of public education programs, yearly lists of problem weeds to be controlled, and weed control strategies.
Assembled in Pacific County in 1972, the Weed Board was formed to facilitate Washington's statutes and regulations regarding weed control, with some of these statues dating back to before statehood. The Weed Board now operates under Washington's current, primary weed law, RCW 17.10.
To be considered for placement on the annual weed control list, weeds must generally be non-native, invasive plants that are of relatively limited distribution in Pacific County and are damaging either economically or environmentally.
