The screw driver to get into it wouldn't be a problem as I bought a set o` those. Had to, as lost practically all my tools. Well, at `irst, was without everything I owned ... except `or the clothes I had on when I escaped to the domestic violence shelter. Now that the divorce is `inal, I have at least some o` what I need to live with. `inding a `ew more things at the thri`t shop too.
A year ago I had two computers, but he kept hal` o` my o``ice equipment. The lawyers agreed to that, just like a lot o` other things that le`t me without.
They call Washington a community property state and that is supposed to mean each party gets hal`. Don't kid yoursel`! It doesn't work that way. At least i` you would be so in danger o` your li`e `rom isolation o` the property, as to give up possession o` the house.
What scares me, is that i` I get the keyboard apart and can't `ix it, getting a replacement will be most di``icult. You see, the old vehicle I got in the settlement is in a repair shop. I'm glad to have it, but it is waiting `or parts to be manu`actured in Seattle. So I'm a`oot, or dependent upon the bus system.
The trouble with buses, is that to get to the other end o` the county and return takes all day. Including `rom Raymond to Long Beach, two bus trans`ers one way. The price o` tickets isn't high, but the system isn't much used because except `or those who have nothing else to do, the expense in time is horrendous.
Aberdeen, Astoria and Centralia are `ull day trips too, and I'd be a`oot when I got there. Longview ... you can't get there `rom here.
We're told to buy locally. Nice idea, and local `rom here would be South Bend as well, when you `igure it only takes an hour by bus to there and an hour back a`ter the errands have been run. And there does happen to be a computer sales, repair and rental shop in South Bend, i` not Raymond. Just one; no competition. The only ball game in town, and I won't play!
Last year, with the protection order against him and at `irst with sheri`` deputy escort and re`used everything except my clothes, I had to rent a computer `or one month. The charge with tax, came to $75.46. That's `or a beat up old 486 which wouldn't even let me do text `iles in DOS. `roze up every time. You think I'd go back to deal with them? No way.
Until I come up with some kind o` solution `or the missing key, I can`t even work on the great American novel. These days you can't `ind a modern book in the library without one particular `our letter word.
The only other way to get around it would be to cut and paste the missing letter into each spot where it is needed. Another di``iculty when a novel runs to hundreds o` pages.
But hey, don't think I'm unhappy. On the stormiest days all winter the weather was delight`ul, now I'm single again. What's one missing letter out o` 26 with the abusive old `art out o` my li`e?
