The following configuration instructions will help you configure Outlook 2002 to allow SMTP Authentication.
To begin, open your Outlook 2002 email program.
Click on Tools at the top of the screen and scroll down and select Accounts
Select View or change existing accounts then click Next

Click on the account you wish to edit and click on Change button on top right

Click on More Settings on the bottom right

Click on Outgoing Servers tab and check the My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication box

Make sure there's a dot in: Use the same settings as my incoming mail server
Click OK on all screens to save your changes.
