The following configuration instructions will help you configure Entourage to allow SMTP Authentication.
Launch your Entourage mail program
From the Tools menu, select Accounts
Double-click on the email account that is listed on the Mail tab, to bring up the Edit Account window.
Click on the Click here for advanced sending options button under the Sending mail portion
Check the SMTP server requires authentication box and make sure the Use same settings as receiving mail server is dotted.
Click OK on all screens to save your changes.
